Here’s a chance to really indulge yourself and do good at the same time.
The Teddie Kossof Salon, Spa & Wellness Center in Northfield is offering a lavish $10,000 gift certificate for its services, of which $1,000 goes to the charity of your choice.
The salon also is offering gift certificates in denominations of $5,000 and $2,500, of which $500 and $250 respectively go to charity.
“I hope to sell 20 (of the $10,000 certificates) and be able to give $20,000 to charity,” said salon owner Teddie Kossof.
Kossof said this is the first time he is making this kind of offer. He said his business has grown to the point he can afford it.
“With the size of the salon, I can absorb the cost of the certificates.”
He added the $10,000 certificate might be largest such gift certificate available. At least, Kossof said, he’s never heard of a larger one.
Kossof always has been active in local charities and service organizations. He said he feels that a person should give something back to his community, especially as he becomes more successful.
“The better I do, the more I can do,” he said.
The certificates are available now and Kossof plans to always have them available. They are open-ended, so there’s time limit on when they can be used.
The certificates can be used for any of the services offered at the spa, from skin care to wellness seminars. Kossof opened his spa at 281 Waukegan Road in 1974.
Kossof is president of Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook. He also is active with the Juvenile Diabetes Association, Children’s Memorial Hospital, American Heart Association, Muscular Dystrophy Association and The Children’s Place.
