Champion Stylist Demonstrates at Kossof Salon

Michael O'Rourke, twice world champion hair stylist, recently demonstrated the newest and hottest trend-setting hair cutting techniques to the staff of hair stylists at Teddie Kossof Salon, Spa & Wellness Center, 281 Waukegan Road, Northfield.
Born in South Africa where he once owned a chain of salons before coming to the U.S., O'Rourke is owner-operator of Sexy Hair Concepts in Los Angeles. This was O'Rourke's only appearance in the Chicago area, said Kossof, who has been named two years in a row as a top 20 salon owner by "Salon Today" magazine.
Kossof is credited with many innovations, including double-shifting hair stylists, opening a clothing boutique in a beauty salon, offering electrolysis services, and constructing the largest one-stop beauty emporium of its kind under one roof featuring traditional salon services as well as both a full service medical and dental practice.
Kossof is also widely known as a hairdresser to the stars, having coiffed Lauren Bacall, Mary Tyler Moore, Duchess of York "Fergie," Linda Ellerbee, Maya Angelou and many others.
